The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Faculty of Business Administration, American International University-Bangladesh successfully organized an interactive and insightful seminar titled “Hospitality Horizons: Careers, Trends and Industry Perspectives” for BBA undergraduate students.

The seminar was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Anwar Hossain, Dean (In-charge), Faculty of Business Administration, who emphasized the growing global demand for hospitality professionals and encouraged students to prepare themselves for international career opportunities.

The keynote session was conducted by Mr. Emamul Haque, Director, Human Resources of Le Méridien Dhaka. He shared valuable industry insights, professional experiences, and practical guidance regarding career opportunities, emerging trends, and the prospects of the hospitality industry. Around 55 enthusiastic BBA students attended the seminar.

A special segment was also conducted by Ms Eshita, Training Manager, Le Meridien, who spoke on Women Empowerment in Marriott Hospitality and inspired students through her professional journey and experiences.

The seminar created an engaging and interactive learning environment where students actively participated in discussions, activities, and question-answer sessions. Participants showed great enthusiasm by asking insightful questions related to hospitality careers, human resource management, industry trends, and international opportunities. The keynote guest speaker encouraged students to explore Marriott’s student development and career programs, which provide opportunities to work across more than 9,000 properties in 139 countries worldwide. He also highlighted the positive aspects of the hospitality industry, including global exposure, career advancement, cultural diversity, networking opportunities, and professional growth. Through sharing his real-life experiences and industry knowledge, the speaker offered students valuable guidance and a clearer understanding of future career pathways in the global hospitality sector.

The seminar was initiated and hosted by Ms. Sharmin Sultana, Assistant Professor, Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management. The initiative was supported by the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Partha Prasad Chowdhury and the Faculty of Business Administration. Mr. Mahmudul Hasan, Lecturer, Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management, was present in the seminar along with other respected faculty members of FBA.

Overall, the seminar proved to be an informative, inspiring, and impactful session that successfully bridged academic learning with industry expectations, motivating students to confidently pursue global opportunities in the hospitality sector.

The event aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals “Quality Education” and Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.” It reflected AIUB’s commitment to academic excellence and its dedication to preparing future professionals in tourism and hospitality management.
