The AIUB Economics Club, in collaboration with the Department of Economics, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), organized a Poster Competition on the National Budget of Bangladesh FY 2026–2027 on Sunday, 19th July 2026 from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Multipurpose Hall, Annex 7, AIUB. The competition provided Economics students with an engaging platform to explore, analyze, and creatively present their perspectives on the national budget and its implications for Bangladesh’s economy and development.
The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor, AIUB; Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor, AIUB; Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean, FASS; and Dr. Faria Sultana, Associate Dean, FASS, and Head, Department of Economics, along with Resource person Dr. Fahmida Khatun, Executive Director of CPD and esteemed faculty members from the Department of Economics and other departments of FASS.
Students from Economics department participated in the competition, presenting their ideas and analyses through creative and informative posters. The activity encouraged students to critically examine the key priorities, opportunities, and challenges reflected in the FY 2026–2027 national budget, while strengthening their research, analytical, teamwork, and communication skills.
The posters were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges comprising Dr. Asif Kamal, Professor, Department of English; Ms. Shaira Matin, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Science; and Ms. Afroja Sultana, Assistant Professor, Department of Journalism and Media Communication (JMC). The judges assessed the posters based on content relevance and accuracy, analytical depth, creativity, visual presentation, and the participants’ understanding of contemporary economic and budgetary issues.
At the conclusion of the competition, crests and certificates were awarded to the winning and runner-up groups in recognition of their outstanding performance and creative presentations. Certificates were also distributed to the participating groups in appreciation of their efforts, active participation, and enthusiasm.
The competition served as a valuable co-curricular initiative, allowing Economics students to connect their classroom learning with a current national policy issue and demonstrate their ability to communicate economic concepts effectively. The event concluded with appreciation for the distinguished judges, participating students, faculty members, and organizers for their valuable contributions to making the competition a successful and academically enriching initiative.
